Japan’s cherry blossom (sakura) season is a spring running from late March to early April in Tokyo and Kyoto, but it’s a rolling wave across the country, starting in the south (Okinawa in January/February) and ending in the north (Hokkaido in May). The bloom period is brief, about two weeks from first bud to full petal fall, making timing crucial.
